Seamus (@champagneseamus) – “Trends”

Irish MC Seamus is in his own lane with debut single, “TRENDS”. The music video premiered with Rhyme Junkie and will be featured on his forthcoming EP Self Help.

“TRENDS” is dark and brooding, with a sense of ominous expectation. With a cold gaze Seamus raps unapologetically about the fickle nature of trends and fads in their various forms. He considers “TRENDS” to be his personal manifesto.

When asked about the single Seamus said, “This was a beat produced at night, it wasn’t finished but it had that haunting piano melody and the nice drum pattern. I started riffing on the idea of trends in its various forms and how the Seamus “character” could be conveyed, and mixing it up in terms of how I relate to some of the key themes of hip-hop and life and luxury like fashion, romance, champagne, food, being yourself, friends. It’s a darker vibe, one of ominous expectation.”

Hip-Hop and rap culture news website, Rhyme Junkie premiered the music video on May 4. Their staff recognized Seamus for his ability to create a solid track with substance. They wrote, “On “Trends” Seamus demonstrates a solid flow on top of a big beat and a nice piano instrumental. The music feels very contemporary with some of the most popular hip hop tracks now which suggests he could be on to a winner with this track.”

After finding success as a cryptocurrency auctioneer, Seamus decided to pursue his passion of writing hip-hop music. The Ireland born artist has set high expectations for himself and hopes to become the first Irish hip-hop artist to win a Grammy.

Fans can watch “TRENDS” now. His debut EP Self Help is scheduled to be released this Summer.
