Eve’s “Lip Lock” Album Release Date, Cover Art & Tracklist

UPDATE: Eve enlists Snoop Loon, Missy Elliott, Juicy J and Pusha T for her fourth solo LP, “Lip Lock.”

Eve has announced the official release date for her upcoming fourth album Lip Lock.

According to Rap-Up.com, Ruff Ryders’ First Lady will drop her first album in 11 years on May 14. The LP is slated to include guest features from Snoop Dogg, Pusha T, Juicy J and Chrisette Michele, and will also include production from Claude Kelly, Swizz Beats and more.

Lip Lock” is the album I’ve always wanted to make and it represents me coming back into the game—lyrically locking it down. But I also like the title because it can be a play on words,” she said.

To coincide with the album release, she released the remix for her new single “She Bad Bad” featuring Pusha T and Juicy J earlier today.

Eve has been recording Lip Lock for the past few years. After dropping Eve-Olution in 2002, she retreated from the music scene and left Interscope Records, dropping one-off singles including “Tambourine”.

Eve has released the cover art to her fourth album, Lip Lock:

Katt Williams Returns with “Scary Movie 5″, Says “I Want My Crown Back!”

katt-williams

Famed comedian, Katt Williams, spoke with AllHipHop.com in what was a uniquely candid interview scheduled as part of Katt’s media rounds for this Summer’s highly publicized movie, Scary Movie 5.

Among other things Katt spoke about his return to comedy this Summer, his recent string of incidents that brought about a media frenzy, his friendship with controversial Hip-Hop mogul Suge Knight and the return of Dipset.

While its been a while since Katt hit the big screen, Katt said he enjoyed the time to shine in Scary Movie 5 and said that being a part of the film was a “no brainer.”

“It’s my first foray back onto the big screen,” Katt Williams said in an exclusive interview with AllHipHop.com. “You know a lot of times when you get one of these offers coming across the table it’s like you have to work your magic and make something out of nothing and this is actually one of those circumstances where it’s already $800 million in.  You know, it’s a true juggernaut and all of the people involved I respected. They sent me the list of people that they already had, so it was a no brainer and it was an opportunity for me to come in a shine a little.”

While Katt said he’s been taking a bit of a hiatus from the stand up comedy world, Katt says he will be back this Summer.

Yea I’ve been not doing any actual live performances because I got fake promoters out there so I was letting them finish spinning their wheels out there, but this is definitely the ‘Summer of Katt Williams,’ I can promise that. They have talked him up again, yet again!” Katt said laughing.

In addition Katt weighed in on his name being brought up in the recent Twitter bout between fellow comedians Mike Epps and Kevin Hart.

“Well you know, first of all we have to understand that these are not two gentleman who are against one another, these are two friends, two guys inside the same peer group.  So you know it happened on a public forum but really it was a personal conversation with them, so it doesn’t – I don’t have a problem with Kevin Hart, I never have, simply because I am a fan of comedy and judge a person by what they bring comedically. He said I ‘flipped out,’ is what he said so I kind of take issue with just the notion that that’s going on.  But when people don’t have all of the circumstances, they aren’t able to rationally see whats going on and its presented however its presented.”

While Katt said he has no problem with Kevin Hart, he let the world know he is making a comeback proclaiming, “I want my crown back!”

“If I am the king, then my crown is not supposed to be able to be worn by anybody else.  So now, that doesn’t mean that they not gonna try and put it on somebody’s head and walk him around and tell you that he is the king.  But, the crown won’t match and the crown is gonna be too heavy for baby boy.  So now all I say is, I want my crown back! The comedy Lord giveth and he taketh away,” Katt Williams said laughing.

“They gonna give the belt to whoever is standing there with their hand up, you know what I mean?  The Hip-Hop fans are smart enough to know that everything that they do, there is an agenda behind what they are doing, they’re really trying to sell something so it’s a joy for me to get back to just selling funny.”

In parting Katt apologized to fans and regretted that they were subject to his highly publicized trials and tribulations.

“Yea I been going through it, as a fan I’m sorry that my fans have actually had to go through it all, but sometimes when you call the hatred down on yourself sometimes it does rain kind of hard. The important part is that they know I am completely aware of the comedy situation and it’s landscape and I am coming to rectify it.”

Exonerated Football Player Brian Banks Signed by Atlanta Falcons

ap_brian_banks_falcons_kb_130404_wmain

At 17, Brian Banks had what high school juniors dream of. Ranked 11 th nationwide as middle linebacker, the Californian had committed to play football at the University of Southern California after a series of offers from other Division 1 schools.

All of that went away the day he was wrongfully convicted of rape.

Now, at age 27, after spending five years in prison, five on probation and receiving an exoneration, Banks revived his dream and signed on to the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday.

“I can’t believe this is happening. It’s surreal,” he said in a conference call to Atlanta and national media shortly after signing his contract. “Aside from getting my life back and my freedom back, this is the biggest accomplishment of my life. But it is also just the beginning.”

In 2002, Banks was accused by a friend of rape and kidnapping. After waiting a year to stand trial and despite a lack of DNA evidence, he pleaded no contest in order to avoid a possible 41-year sentence. The plea deal resulted in five years behind bars.

After he was released from jail in 2007 at the age of 22, he was placed on probation. The restrictions outlined that he had to register as a sex offender, could not live within 2,000 feet from any school or park, and he had to keep a GPS device around his ankle to ensure that he did not leave the state.

One day, he received a friend request on Facebook from the woman who had started it all.

“She was hoping that we could allow bygones to be bygones,” Banks told “60 Minutes.”

Upon meeting with her twice, he and a private detective were able to tape a retraction in which she stated, “No, he did not rape me.”

On May 24, 2012, he was exonerated by the same judge who put him behind bars nine years earlier.

Two weeks later he got a call from Jay Glazer, a trainer, the owner of MMAthletics, and a Fox Sports NFL Insider.

“I said, ‘Let’s get your butt into a gym tomorrow,'” Glazer said to ABC News. “Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life, so let’s get going.”

Banks had let go of his football aspirations while he was incarcerated in order to focus on what was ahead of him in prison.

“Football was the last thing on mind and it wasn’t until a few months before I was actually being released from prison that I thought about possibly trying to play football again,” Banks told reporters Wednesday.

“He had a lot of room to make up,” Glazer said. “I just tried to convince him that he had already pushed himself way more than we could push him physically. If being incarcerated for something he didn’t do couldn’t break him, then nothing we could ever do to him on the field or in the training room could break him.”

Eventually, his hard work began to deliver results and he was invited to participate in the Seattle Seahawks‘ and San Francisco 49ers‘ minicamps. He also worked out with the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers before signing on to play for the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League (UFL).

Shortly before the start of the 2012-2013 season, the Falcons invited him to try out.

“He had a great workout, but the timing was bad,” Glazer said. “But the Falcons gave me their word that they would sign him. Not then but soon.”

Eight months later, they kept their word.

“We’re putting together our roster and this isn’t a charity case,” Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff told the NFL Network. “This is a great, feel-good story, but it’s also one that we believe that he has a chance to come in there and compete.”

Wednesday’s signing is only the beginning of Banks achieving his dream. Now, he must prove his ability to receive a spot on the 53-man roster.

“I don’t expect any handouts or favoritism,” Banks said. “I’m here to work like everybody else. The result of my hard work will be whatever they deem necessary. All I can do is do my best.”

“There’s still a long distance to go. He understands that. We understand that,” Dimitroff said. “Given his character and his makeup and what he’s gone through … I think that speaks volumes to his perseverance and his drive to continue to learn and grow.”

Glazer, while acknowledging the disadvantage that comes with Banks’ age and the uphill battle he has ahead, has unwavering faith.

If there’s anybody who’s already bucked the odds it’s him,” he said. “Why not do it again?”

Jada Pinkett-Smith on Will Smith Open Marriage Rumors: I Tell Him to “Do Whatever You Want”

1365095307_will-smith-jada-pinkett-smith-467

Hey, whatever works. Jada Pinkett-Smith addressed a longstanding rumor about her 16-year marriage to Will Smith in a new interview with HuffPost Live: That she and Will, 44, have an open relationship.

PHOTOS: See their wedding portrait and other stars’ nuptials

“No, I think that people get that idea because Will and I are very relaxed with one another,” replied the actress and mother of actor-singers Willow, 12, and Jaden, 14. The 41-year-old star then continued of the “persistent” rumor: “But I’ve always told Will: You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay,” she said, without going into further specifics.

“Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man,” she said of the Men in Black star. “I’m here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that’s not for me to do for him,” she said, adding: “Or vice versa.”

The couple have battled more than one false report of an imminent divorce, most memorably insummer 2011, when the couple, who wed in 1997, slammed split rumors — and talk that Pinkett Smith had an affair with HawthoRN costar Marc Anthony during his marriage to Jennifer Lopez. “Will is my best friend,” she told HuffPost Live. “He’s been by my side for some of the most difficult parts of my life. You always have that for your foundation.”

Rick Ross Continues To Apologize For “Lyrics Interpreted As Rape”

rickross111

UPDATE: Rick Ross takes to Twitter to assert his apology over lyrics that he feels may have been misinterpreted.

Rick Ross has caught a significant amount of heat for his lyric on Rocko‘s “U.O.E.N.O. (You Ain’t even Know It),” where he raps, “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it / I took her home and enjoy that, she ain’t even know it.”

The track inspired a radio station to ban Ross, and a petition asking the rapper to apologize.

In an attempt to save face, Ross attempted to explain the rhyme on the Q 93.3 radio show.

“I want to make sure this is clear,” said Rozay. “Woman is the most precious gift known to man, you understand? It was a misunderstanding with a lyric, a misinterpretation where the term rape wasn’t used. I would never use the word rape in my records.”

Ross assured that no one in the Maybach Music Group camp was a supporter of rape. “And as far as my camp, Hip Hop don’t condone that, streets don’t condone that. Nobody condones that, you understand me? I just wanted to reach out to all the queens that’s on my timeline, all the sexy ladies, the beautiful ladies that have been reaching out to me about the misunderstanding. We don’t condone rape and I’m not with that.”
