Paris Hilton Signs With Cash Money Records

paris-hilton_0

Hollywood socialite Paris Hilton has officially signed a deal with Cash Money.

Shocking, we know, but the blonde starlet has been shopping around the idea of creating a EDM/House album to a few record labels, and after hours of hand rubbing, Birdman thought it was a great idea.

In an interview with Showbiz 411, Paris dished about her new album, stating:

“This is a lot different than my first album. It’s really going to be house music.”

Paris will be joining Cash Money’s extensive family of rappers and rockers like Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Bow Wow, Christina Milian, Shanell, and Limp Bizkit.

As if Paris Hilton’s first album wasn’t interesting enough with features from rappers like Fat Joe and Jadakiss, the “Fighting Over Me” singer is linking up with her DJing friend Afrojack to record an EDM album.

Between news of a Big Tymers reunion without Mannie Fresh, and now this, music lovers can’t take any more shocking news from YMCMB.

What are your thoughts on Paris Hilton being the newest member of YMCMB?

Crazy or logical?

Will Smith Recording Music With Kanye West

kanye-west-will-smith-studio-600x450

Kanye West has spent the last week premiering new music for what is assumed to be his next studio album, but he also appears to be working on some new music with actor/rapper Will Smith.

Will recently revealed that he and Kanye have been hitting the studio together. “I’ve been messing around with Kanye,” Smith said in an interview with HipHollywood. “We went in the studio a few times. I might get the bug.”

The Fresh Prince said he won’t release anything unless he’s truly passionate about the duo’s efforts. “I’m not going to do it unless I’m truly inspired,” but he did reveal that Yeezy has been pushing him a little bit.

Smith spent some time with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian in Brazil earlier this year, Vulture reports.

Will Smith’s last album was 2005’s “Lost and Found”, which featured appearances by Snoop Dogg, Robin Thicke and Mary J. Blige, as well the hit song “Switch.”

Last year, the French Prince and his longtime friend collaborator DJ Jazzy Jeff teamed up with DJ and mixtape master Mick Boogie to record a new version of their classic 90’s jam “Summertime.”

Could Yeezy inspire Will Smith to finally make that musical comeback?

Jay-Z & Drake Photographed In The Studio Together

With a photo and a warning for fans, A&R Lenny S. explains that OVO and Roc Nation are working on music together.

This year, Jay-Z has made headlines just by taking pictures with artists in the studio and it has happened once again, this time with Drake.

In April, much was made about the release of “Open Letter,” which came along with an image of Trey Songz, Timbaland, Jay-Z and Swizz Beatz in the studio. More recently, headlines were made when Jay took an image next to Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon. Now, the emcee is featured in a new, behind-the-scenes image with Drake.

The photo, which can be viewed below, also came with a message:

“Warning: Please be very afraid of the music we’re working on. OVO x ROCNATION”

The source of the image, A&R Lenny S., was also behind the other photographs mentioned above. Lenny S. also goes by @KodakLens on Instagram, where he has posted the images.

Over recent years, Jay-Z and Drake have maintained a good working relationship. In 2009, Drake used So Far Gone’s “Fear,” to speak about his admiration for Jay-Z. “I never cried when Pac died,” Drake said on the track. “But I probably will when Hov does. And if my tears hold value then I would drop one for every single thing he showed us.” Since then, the two have collaborated on songs like “Light Up” and “Off That.” No official word has been made about where their new music will end up.

Wiz Khalifa Says Rap & Religion Should Be Separate

wizzy

Wiz Khalifa addresses fads in Hip Hop, comments on the sense of “togetherness” marijuana brings about.

Throughout the years, Hip Hop has touched on a number of controversial topics including gun violence, drug use, and even religion. Despite the array of subjects the genre touches on, one rapper in particular feels that a line should be drawn between rap and religion.

While speaking with AlLindstrom.com, Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa shared his thoughts on religion in rap and spoke on the topic being just another fad in Hip Hop.

“This is just me personally, I don’t like how much people play with religion in rap,” Wiz revealed. “You know what I’m saying? I feel like that’s a fad that a lot of people came into and they don’t really understand really what they’re saying or doing. So, they’re playing into that because it’s popular, it’s cool, but it’s not really what the shit’s about. So, when you talk about religious stuff and you talk about rap culture. Religion is religion and rap culture is rap culture.”

Later in the interview, the Taylor Gang spitter spoke on the popularity of Molly and party culture in today’s Hip Hop before sharing the reason why he’s drawn to marijuana.

“As far as like drugs, Molly, and partying, of course the next drug is gonna be the next cool thing. Whatever’s popping that’s what people talk about, but I feel like there’s people who really do it and are experienced in it and they’re not even rappers…With pot for me, the appeal to it is the togetherness of it. Cause when you first get weed—the first thing you do is share it. You hit it, you pass it. That’s what weed is based on. It’s based on sharing.”

During the interview, Wiz also shared a few details on his upcoming wedding with longtime girlfriend Amber Rose.

50 Cent Explains “Mistake” With G-Unit & Discusses Animated Show On FOX

50 Cent says he helped G-Unit gain more popularity than D-12 and St. Lunatics. He also claims he helped them with their projects and that they weren’t always grateful for the assistance. Furthermore, 50 explains how his animated series on FOX came to be.

While reflecting on his past, 50 Cent recently spoke about his experiences with G-Unit. In the process, he explained a bit more about his animated series on FOX.

Regarding his new series, 50 Cent said the show came to be as a result of his recent book about bullying.

“A lot of the times, my childhood experiences help me with projects that I create now,” 50 told HardknockTV. “Like, I created ‘Playground.’ It was a book based on bullying. My son was was telling me a story about something someone next to him was experiencing at school. I found myself explaining it from a perspective where I realized I was the bully. I was like, ‘Damn. How you gonna teach him and you’re tellin’ him…’ So, I wanted to create a book where I made the audience like the bully before I made them realize that his own actions was comin’ from something internal that had nothing to do with those situations…That book was a successful book. And now it has been picked up to become an animated television show on FOX. So, you’ll see it soon.”

During the interview, Fif also expressed his take on what went wrong with G-Unit.

“A lot of people here may not know every member of D-12 by name or every member of the St. Lunatics,” he continued. “But chances are, they recognize who was a part of G-Unit. It’s because I was so conscious of the people around me that, after the first record took off – and Interscope Records really didn’t want – Why do you want a G-Unit record when you can have a 50 Cent record when that one is the largest debuting Hip Hop album? You want another 50 Cent record. So I was adamant about positioning them properly because those crews, D-12 and St. Lunatics, had people that spearheaded them like Eminem and Nelly that had so much success, those projects would take two years before they would finish. They would come out and be such a huge success that they’re traveling and touring with so much going on that their crew would be there and they would turn into those guys that are just in the background…I didn’t want that to happen so I made the G-Unit project at that point and it offered them different things.”

“[I got] to the point where I was writing the music,” 50 added. “Helping them with their albums, putting the right choruses and production around them so they could make the album right. I think that there are certain things you do where you enable people and they feel like you are supposed to do that. This is how we do it, versus they appreciate you actually doing it. So, I made that mistake also.”

More from the interview can be viewed below.

[youtube=http://youtu.be/BIpMo27vTi4]

In 2011, 50 spoke on his book, Playground. The emcee then shared similar sentiments. “Because my son is 15 years old, right now, it’s a relevant issue for me.” he said. “I had more experiences where I was part of the problem. To now have an adult’s [perspective], I can [look back] and say ‘that’s wrong.'”

50 Cent’s relationship with G-Unit has gone through ups and down. The group released their debut album, Beg for Mercy, in 2003. Since then, they have only released one other full length album, 2008’s Terminate On Sight. The group later disbanded over a series of issues. Among these issues, 50 once said he “disabled” some of the group members. He also shared that communication was lost between him and Lloyd Banks. Also, a feud boiled between 50 and former member Young Buck. Similarly, 50 and former G-Unit member Game have been at odds for years. Beyond this, there have been times where Fif has been open to reuniting with members of the original squad. But there have also been times where he’s said a reunion would be unlikely.
