Brooklyn-based trap/R&B artist today released his new single “Savage”, from his upcoming EP Stages. “Savage” is the first single off the record and sets the tone for what’s to come.
Jimi Noel brings an unpredictable harmonic sound to the R&B track, showcasing his distinctive vocal range. The track tackles the complexities of relationships and loyalty. Jimi says “Savage” is “based on a moment in time where you’ve been wrongfully treated with disloyalty and infidelity and all of the emotional damage leaves you scarred.”
“Savage” was co-produced by Jimi and his production partner, Lehkz. The track was mastered by KQuick (Fabulous, Bas), who as an artist himself is signed to J.Cole’s label Dreamville.
Jimi Noel grew up listening to music by playing with his mother’s record player, which is where he heard a lot of the classics that would have an undeniable influence to his sound today. Like a lot of aspiring performers would “practice” his performances in the mirror. His music filled childhood would lay the foundations for his defined R&B sound.
Jimi was originally on the road to play professional basketball outside of the United States. Due to an injury he sustained from a car crash he got permanently sidelined. This somewhat traumatic experience motivated him to pursue his passion for music and dedicate his time to crafting and mastering his skills.
“Savage” has already caught attention from Singersroom who hails the single as a “smooth, harmonic sound” & “boppin’ R&B track.”
A video for “Savage” is set to be released in coming months- so keep your eyes open.
