Seamus (@champagneseamus) – “Poise”

Irish hip-hop artist Seamus recently debuted the music video for single, “Poise” off his forthcoming EP Self Help. The LA-based rapper is devoted to being an uncommon man among common people within the hip-hop industry. He dropped his debut single, “Trends” with Rhyme Junkies last month. They wrote, “On “Trends” Seamus demonstrates a solid flow on top of a big beat and a nice piano instrumental. The music feels very contemporary with some of the most popular hip hop tracks now which suggests he could be on to a winner with this track.”

“Poise” is heavily inspired by London’s Grime music scene. The drum cadence and tone of the visual evokes raps braggadocio, especially artists hailing from across the pond. Seamus describes the visual as “pop up shop music” because it’s short and straight to the point. The song structure has recently become popularized by rappers like Lil Pump. In the words of Seamus, “It’s here and then it’s gone, but you’ll hit repeat.”
