The New Era Music Festival 2018 official lineup has been released, featuring over 50 local, regional and national hip-hop artists. From thriving Chicago to North Carolina’s capital Raleigh, the first-ever New Era Music Festival will present independent artists on the rise on April 21st at the New Era Music House, such as Th3 Higher, VVG, Black Linen, Yung Blaza, and Jamee Cornelia. This festival serves as a ground-breaker for the Carolinas hip-hop music scene, where hip-hop artists have a harder time securing venues. Starting with local shows, this roster of artists has worked together for the past few years to create change. By way of networking groups, creating a new venue and promoting other local acts consistently, festival founder Tizzy Farragami is paving the way to success and bringing the entire community with him.
“I have been traveling, performing and hosting my own events for the past four years and I’ve seen a lot of greattalent.” says Farragami. “My purpose for this festival is to shed a light on the overwhelming amount of high-quality hip-hop artists not only in Charlotte but also in North Carolina. My goal is that after the completion of the festival everyone involved rises to a level where we can all break free from the “chains” that hold us to the reliance of a 9-5. This festival from top to bottom is solid, with no weak links at all. Everyone involved is an extremely talented individual and deserves way more than what the traditional job pays them. The quote “its lonely at the top” was always weird to me. I want to be at the top but I don’t want to be lonely, so I’ll just bring all of my friends to the top with me. The New Era Music Fest will be the starting point for a lot of careers.”
The festival grounds will have an array of vendors, from food trucks to clothing lines, and everything in between. This festival is a celebration of budding hip-hop culture bursting through Charlotte and across the state. Join the group of dedicated talent April 21st at the New Era Music House to witness an extraordinary collaboration of artists and creators.
