Today, Brooklyn rap trio Flatbush Zombies release “Headstone,” the lead single off of their hotly anticipated new album Vacation In Hell out April 6. Emcees Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice and Erick “Arc” Elliott recorded the forthcoming album over the last year in Brooklyn, NY.
The verses on “Headstone” – produced by Elliott – make a clever play off classic Hip Hop song and album titles that have inspired the group’s bold and grimy sound over the years. In the cinematic black & white video directed by Luke Monaghan, Meechy, Juice and Elliott take over the streets of their native Flatbush, Brooklyn.
Starting in spring 2018 and in support of Vacation In Hell, Flatbush Zombies will embark on a North American tour playing the largest venues of their career, and will perform at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Tour dates below and more to be announced.
Vacation In Hell, is the follow up to their critically acclaimed debut 2016 LP 3001: A Laced Odyssey which shot straight to the #1 spot on the US iTunes Album chart and debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200, #2 on the Hip Hop chart and #1 on the Independent chart. Since the release of 3001, the group sold more than 50,000 tickets in the US alone. Internationally, they headlined over 20 cities in Europe and recently wrapped an Australian. Stand-out festival performances included Reading, Leeds, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo.
In 2016, Marvel paid tribute to the 3001 cover for their HIP-HOP Variants series, which say the group join a small group of other honorees including 2Pac, Eminem and Run The Jewels. In the time since the release of their debut LP, the group dropped remixes for “Still Palm Trees” with Snoop Dogg and “Feel It Still” with Portugal The Man.
