With only 8 days into the new year [2018], New Jersey artist Deal The Villain [Sean Jones II] is straight out the gate with an absolute gem of an album, after releasing his under-appreciated EP “Beards, Beats & Kicks” earlier in 2017, the Garden State lyricist spent the rest of last year silently locking himself away in the studio plotting this surprise concept. “Jackson Jones” lyrically illustrates a collection of distinctive beats by one of the greatest producers in Hip-Hop, Otis Jackson Jr. aka Madlib. Even though the album is 15 tracks deep its runtime is only around EP length, each one designed to be as concise and succinct as possible sitting under 2 minutes long. “Jackson Jones” is a uniquely cohesive fusion of Deal The Villain [Lyrics] and Madlib [Beats] that can only be heard via Bandcamp.
