Rap Battle app represents the U.S. in The World App Contest

Rap app Battle Me (www.bttl.me) secures its spot in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with its victory in Miami.

The competition at the LAB Miami was held to decide the top 3 mobile startups in the US and Canada that will now be representing the region in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this March.

“It’s kind of like they took the rap battle scenes from 8 mile and turned it into an app.” hip hop artist “Proper John” John Stewart expressed after the event.

It’s crazy to think, the app already have over 500,000 users posting freestyle tracks in over 11 languages. Battle Me works for both musicians and fans. Users are able to select instrumentals and record vocals on their smart phones, and use these recordings to battle each other. The rest of the user community then votes to decide the winners of the different battles and contests.

Already having 4.5 star rating average between Google Play and the App Store, Battle Me is currently fine-tuning its “video battles” feature.
