Singer India.Arie Snags Grammy Nomination In The “Best New Age Album” Category For ” Songversation: Medicine”

Congratulations are in order for singer/songwriterIndia.Arie as she has been nominated for her 22nd Grammy Award in the “Best New Age Album” category for her latest release SongVersation: Medicine alongside such artists as Steve Roach, Brian Eno, Peter Kater, and Kitarō. An applauded transition from previous releases, India’s voice effortlessly glides and blends with the acoustic sounds that will transport listeners to a state of peace.  Spirituality & Health declares “India Arie’s voice is confident, optimistic, and beautiful across these pared-down songs of peace and love.” Ms. Arie has previously won four Grammy Awards in the  “Best R&B Album,” “Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals,” and “Best Urban/Alternative Performance” categories.

“I am very excited about this nomination…my intent was for this to be listened to in a quiet time, prayer, meditation, and Yoga,” states Arie who continues, “My wish is that these songs bring softness, clarity, calm, and inspiration.”

The release of SongVersation: Medicine, was meant to be an extension of her 2013 release SongVersation, which received rave reviews from Rolling StoneBillboard, andVibe among others, this seven-song EP was India’s offering during these tumultuous times. Using her voice as a catalyst to promote healing and enlightenment, this new release quickly became another fan favorite, which featured singles “I Am Light” (Click Here), as well as the Eric Garner inspired single “Breathe” (Click Here). For fans eagerly waiting to hear more music, India.Arie is back in the studio recording new music and is expected to be available in 2018.

This past summer India.Arie made several appearances at the 2017 ESSENCE Festivalduring Independence Weekend in New Orleans; joined Oprah and Gayle King aboard the“Share the Adventure Cruise to Alaska” as well as lent her voice to stand up against modern-day slavery with the Grace Farms Foundation.
